On behalf of all the members of Internet Lodge No: 9659, which is a regular Masonic Lodge under the Province of East Lancashire, constitution of the United Grand Lodge of England, I bid you a very warm welcome to our website. On founding our Lodge in 1998 we had only fifty two members and now in 2017 we have four hundred and thirty nine members, from eighty seven Grand Lodges around the world. We can justly claim to be the world's oldest truly International Internet Masonic Lodge with members in many countries, and in every continent.
If you are a fellow Freemason then I extend to you our most cordial fraternal greetings as a Brother. Please explore our website, and if you are interested in our concept of International Freemasonry why not consider joining us? No matter where you are in the World you will be only as far away from your Internet Lodge Brothers as you are from your smartphone, tablet, laptop or desk top. As well as our electronic interchanges, hold three regular physical lodge meetings each year with our Manchester Installation in March, with two further meetings in August and October held anywhere in England or Wales, as decided by each incoming Master.
Alternatively if your interest is to find out more about Freemasonry then you are also especially welcome. I hope that you will learn more about our worldwide fraternity which genuinely transcends all forms of racial, religious or political prejudice and supports the excellent principles of international friendship, understanding and harmony.
One of Freemasonry's principal objects is Charity. As well as supporting its own Masonic Charities Freemasonry supports many non-Masonic causes. In the United Kingdom Freemasonry's giving to non-Masonic Charities is surpassed only by The National Lottery. Our Lodge Charity projects for the year are supporting Charities locally, nationally and internationally with a three year project supporting Mothers Against Violence, Reverse Retts, and as I am living and working in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, a local Charity will be selected as well.
We will also be looking at disabled access for our members in both our communications, and physical access to our meeting venues. We are in the process of restructuring our management to better serve our members as we continue to grow steadily, and to lay down the foundations for future succession in our vital administrative appointments and offices, for years to come.
To our Masonic readers I hope you will find something of interest in our website, articles and papers, inspiring in your daily journey in the advancement of your Masonic knowledge. For those of you who are not Freemasons, I hope you find our web site pages interesting and informative and may inspire you with the warmth we share with one another, and the world we live in.
Bro Carl N. Freeland
Worshipful Master, Internet Lodge No: 9659
